As a key member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, the Unit Chief will oversee daily operations, establish and oversee interdisciplinary teams, and ensure that community meetings and other therapeutic groups take place as scheduled.
Responsibilities:
The Unit Chief will be responsible for:
Collaborating with a robust interdisciplinary treatment team to oversee daily operations of the Adult Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit
Establishing and overseeing interdisciplinary teams and team meetings
Ensuring that community meetings and other therapeutic groups take place as scheduled
Participating in Behavioral Codes on the unit, providing leadership to the staff and patient community
Participating in Medical Codes on the unit until the Code Team arrives
Providing direct patient care, including appropriate and timely documentation
Monitoring patient care, including length of stay and appropriate dispositions
Working with all teams on the unit to identify and solve potential barriers to discharge
Providing clinical consultation to teams on the unit
Assisting and supervising unit psychiatrists and nurse practitioners as needed
Monitoring the need for psychiatrist assessments and other components of applications for aftercare
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be a board-eligible or board-certified psychiatrist with a strong academic background and experience in leading interdisciplinary teams. The candidate must have a license to practice medicine in the State of New York and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Benefits:
PAGNY offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary of $257,000, 10% 401K company contribution after one year of service, and excellent benefits, including medical, dental, and CME days and dollars.
