Job Title: Psychiatrist - Inpatient Unit Chief

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychiatrist to serve as the Inpatient Unit Chief for our Inpatient Psychiatry department at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of dedicated professionals and provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary treatment team to oversee daily operations of the Adult Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit.
  • Establish and oversee interdisciplinary teams and team meetings.
  • Ensure that community meetings and other therapeutic groups take place as scheduled.
  • Participate in Behavioral Codes on the unit, providing leadership to the staff and patient community.
  • Provide direct care for a caseload of patients on the unit, including appropriate and timely documentation.
  • Monitor patient care, including length of stay and dispositions.
  • Work with the medical-consultation team to ensure that medical problems are properly identified and managed.
  • Provide clinical consultation to teams on the unit.
  • Assist and supervise unit psychiatrists and nurse practitioners as needed.
  • Monitor the need for psychiatrist assessments and other components of applications for aftercare.
  • Participate in inter-disciplinary case discussions (tier reviews) of complex cases.
Requirements:
  • Board-eligible or board-certified in Psychiatry.
  • M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school of medicine.
  • Completed residency training in an accredited program within Psychiatry.
  • License to practice medicine in the State of New York.
Benefits:
  • Annual base salary: $257,000 based on a 40-hour work week.
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year's average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
