Job Summary

The Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Psychiatrist - Inpatient Unit Director to lead the Inpatient Psychiatry department at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi. As a key member of the hospital's leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Adult Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit, ensuring the highest quality care for patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary treatment team to develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans
  • Oversee unit clinical structure, including establishing and leading interdisciplinary teams and team meetings
  • Provide direct patient care, including timely and accurate documentation
  • Monitor patient care, ensuring appropriate length of stay and dispositions, including referrals for state hospitalization and aftercare
  • Participate in performance improvement and quality assurance activities, including chart reviews and education of unit staff
  • Ensure adequate psychiatric coverage on the unit at all times, including staff vacations

Requirements

  • Board-eligible or board-certified in Psychiatry
  • M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school of medicine
  • Completed residency training in an accredited program within Psychiatry
  • License to practice medicine in the State of New York

  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000, contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets
