Department Overview:

The Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering is dedicated to providing top-tier education in various engineering disciplines. Our faculty and student body are among the largest and most distinguished in the nation, with notable rankings in Environmental and Civil Engineering programs.

Key Responsibilities:

The Department seeks a Communications Manager who will spearhead our outreach initiatives. This role includes:

  • Creating and implementing comprehensive communication strategies.
  • Producing and curating engaging content for our website, social media platforms, and newsletters.
  • Collaborating with faculty, students, and alumni to craft compelling narratives about our programs and achievements.
  • Writing press releases and managing public relations efforts.
  • Supervising freelance contributors and student assistants in the development of specialized communication materials.
  • Tracking and analyzing the effectiveness of communication efforts.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong writing and reporting skills, with a focus on translating complex information for diverse audiences.
  • Experience in photography, video production, and digital content creation.
  • Proficiency in content management systems, particularly WordPress.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Leadership experience, with the capability to oversee a small team.
Educational Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in technical writing and communications within academic settings is advantageous.
