POSITION OVERVIEW

With a global presence of over 430 retail locations, our team members play a vital role in our operations. From ensuring that products are readily available on the sales floor to crafting engaging visual displays, addressing customer inquiries, and managing an efficient checkout process, our associates are instrumental in delivering exceptional customer experiences while supporting the Store Leadership team in fulfilling Columbia Sportswear Company's mission of "Connecting Active People with Their Passions."

As a Retail Associate, you will act as a brand ambassador, ensuring outstanding in-store experiences through positive interactions with customers. In this role, you will utilize your natural problem-solving and sales skills to respond to customer inquiries and provide compelling product recommendations, all while upholding Columbia Sportswear Company's values to enhance customer service and teamwork.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing consumer inquiries regarding product features, benefits, and availability; engage with customers to understand their needs and preferences (e.g., demonstrate and explain merchandise, suggest suitable options, etc.).
  • Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety; retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stockroom, or other inventory locations.
  • Efficiently and accurately perform all required cash register transactions (e.g., sales, returns, exchanges, connecting customers to loyalty programs).
  • Contribute to store profitability by accurately and efficiently receiving, handling, replenishing, and processing incoming and outgoing product flow.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • No specific educational requirements (High School Diploma or GED preferred).
  • Up to 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient in operating a Point of Sale (POS) system and other in-store computerized systems.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Frequently engaged in a dynamic environment that may involve physical activity (e.g., moving items weighing up to 40 lbs.), may involve specialized equipment, and may expose you to dust and noise.
  • Occasionally requires the ability to work in a stationary position.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with others.
  • Availability to work a flexible retail schedule, which may vary seasonally and in response to business trends or forecasts, while adhering to all local, state, and federal laws regarding availability.
