Job Title: Workfirst Service Delivery Coordinator

Job Summary:

Renton Technical College is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Workfirst Service Delivery Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Workforce Education and Grants department, you will play a critical role in supporting the success of our students and helping them achieve their career goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Workfirst students with admission into the appropriate college program or job readiness classes.
  • Determine student eligibility for financial assistance under RTC Workfirst, in coordination with other workforce funding programs and financial aid.
  • Represent RTC as an educational consultant to DSHS case managers at CSOs within the service area.
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with various state agencies that serve Workfirst students.
  • Completes and maintains all appropriate files.
  • Track and report progress of RTC Workfirst students and assist them with long-term career planning and transition to college-level programs.
  • Coordinate RTC representation at all Workfirst Local Planning Areas in our service area.
  • Participate in RTC Workfirst Team Meetings.
  • Prepare required quarterly reports and assist with the development of the annual Workfirst Delivery Plan.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively, both orally and in writing, with college employees, departments, and outside agencies.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated leadership in institutional programs with persons from diverse backgrounds.
  • Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, or other related field and two (2) years related work experience.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of state Workforce program requirements.
  • Successful experience working with low-income individuals in overcoming barriers to self-sufficiency.
  • Familiarity with career pathway planning, student assessment, and the community and technical college system.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills - oral and written, including group presentations.
  • Ability to deal with difficult situations professionally and diplomatically.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid Driver's license.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, think critically, and exercise independent judgment required.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office 2010, specifically experience in creating & editing documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote universal design and accessibility.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail required as well as previous experience maintaining accurate records, managing multiple tasks, and planning and organizing work in order to meet changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to represent the college in a positive and professional manner, while using tact, discretion, and courtesy.
  • Ability to speak a regionally top spoken language other than English is preferred (Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, Somali, and Chinese).
