About Medical City Children's Congenital Heart Surgery:

We are seeking a part-time Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our premier group at Medical City Children's Congenital Heart Surgery Center.

Job Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with complex acute, critical, and chronically ill perioperative and post-operative conditions in a Pediatric Cardiac ICU or Congenital Heart Surgery setting.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as x-rays, EKGs, and laboratory tests to inform patient care decisions.
  • Provide age-appropriate management, referrals, counseling, and education to patients, families, and caregivers related to their condition and current care.
  • Prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities to address patient needs.
  • Facilitate the transition of patients within and between healthcare settings, including admitting, transferring, and discharging.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in weekly Multidisciplinary Case Conferences to discuss patient cases and share best practices.
  • This is a Monday-Friday day position with shared call responsibilities.

Salary and Benefits:

  • $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, CME, and dues allowance.
