Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Supply Chain Logistics Associate to join our team at the University of Texas at Austin. This is a full-time position responsible for coordinating the movement of merchandise from receipt to delivery across our warehouses.

About the Role

This role plays a critical part in ensuring seamless logistics operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for loading and unloading merchandise, inspecting for damage, and accurately recording inventory levels in our system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Loading, unloading, preparing, inspecting, and operating delivery vehicles in compliance with UHD standards
  • Delivering a wide variety of items, including surplus equipment and furniture, on a case-by-case basis
  • Communicating professionally and effectively with staff, supervisory staff, and/or customers
  • Maintaining current knowledge of all areas of responsibility
  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Maintaining delivery logs and records
  • Transporting dining unit invoices, assets, and transfers to UHD transportation hub
  • Receiving deliveries of all merchandise
  • Unpacking, identifying, and checking goods for conformity with original order
  • Storing items in the proper storage areas
  • Inspecting for expiration dates, product quality, and damages
  • Ensuring proper labeling and storage of products, following first-in-first-out (FIFO) guidelines
  • Preparing outgoing shipments by crating, packing, labeling, and arranging for delivery
  • Completing weekly inventories
  • Providing routine clerical and manual work in receiving, storing, and issuing equipment, materials, and other supplies
  • Responsible for receiving, checking, marking, storing, and issuing supplies and maintaining stock records and preparing reports
  • May make minor repairs to equipment
  • May assemble stock items shipped
  • Operating and inspecting forklifts, pallet jacks, delivery vans, trucks, and dollies to ensure safe operation of warehouse equipment
  • Adhering to written and oral University and UHD policies such as time and attendance and UHD/UT trainings and compliance
  • Completing and maintaining required food safety training, including Texas Food Handler Safety
  • Following work safety guidelines and utilizing proper PPE as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Estimated salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in inventory management or a related field
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
