Role Overview

How You Will Make an Impact

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at U.S. Renal Care, you will play a vital role in a collaborative team, providing care and executing treatment activities for patients. You will operate under the guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN) for individuals experiencing renal failure.

Your Responsibilities

Patient Interaction. You will engage directly with patients to deliver safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis care. Your duties will include monitoring patient statistics before and after treatment, initiating and overseeing treatment, concluding treatment, and collecting blood samples as directed by physicians.

Technical Responsibilities. You will prioritize quality by preparing machines for hemodialysis sessions, ensuring thorough cleaning and disinfection post-treatment, and conducting safety checks on equipment while logging results for quality assurance, adhering to all protocols and regulations.

Safety and Compliance. You will implement appropriate safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment. Under the supervision of a Charge Nurse, you will comply with all company policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations. Participation in required staff meetings and ongoing education is expected.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A genuine desire to work in healthcare and support patients.
  • Prior experience in healthcare, particularly in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA, is advantageous.
  • Comfort with mixing acids and bicarbonate according to established protocols.
  • Ability to distinguish primary colors.
Additional Requirements
  • Successful completion of the U.S. Renal Care training program approved by the Medical Director, demonstrating competency, including the completion of the hemodialysis theory and practice course within the initial weeks of employment.
  • CPR certification is required within a specified timeframe or as mandated by state regulations.
  • Certification as a Patient Care Technician must be obtained through a state or nationally recognized certification program within a designated period of employment and maintained in good standing thereafter.
