Position Summary:
We are seeking an entry-level engineer to engage in manual validation tasks for automotive systems. This role is ideal for engineering co-op students and interns looking for a comprehensive learning opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
This role will primarily involve manual validation in both laboratory and vehicle environments.
Laboratory Testing Includes:
- Preparation and setup for bench simulations, including hardware diagnostics.
- Utilization of tools such as CANoe and SG for simulations.
Vehicle Testing Includes:
- Conducting drive evaluations using checklists to identify issues.
- Preparing test vehicles, including modifications and troubleshooting.
- Spending approximately 4-6 hours daily in a vehicle for testing purposes.
Upon discovering a defect, you will be responsible for isolating the issue and effectively communicating it to other engineering teams through detailed bug reports.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Conducting evaluations of audio, radio, electrical, and functional systems.
- Creating and troubleshooting test cases based on product specifications.
- Utilizing multimeters and oscilloscopes for diagnostics, alongside schematics and wiring diagrams.
Evaluation Process:
Your evaluations will encompass:
- Preparation and setup of testing environments.
- Conducting thorough troubleshooting analyses.
- Implementing vehicle modifications as necessary.
- Maintaining detailed bug reports and tickets in JIRA.
Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and effective time management are essential for achieving daily objectives and completing evaluations efficiently.
Beyond Testing:
This position involves more than just testing and documentation. You will also:
- Compile and install software updates.
- Engage in regular documentation, reporting, and analytical tasks.
- Enhance testing scenarios and setups.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience as an Engineering Intern/Co-op with at least two years of college education.
- Preferred experience in the OEM automotive sector, particularly in electronics and infotainment systems.
- Familiarity with JIRA, audio systems, Bluetooth, and electrical debugging tools is advantageous.
- Valid driving record and capability to drive safely for testing purposes.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Ability to interpret schematics and perform hardware diagnostics is crucial.
- Highly organized with strong problem-solving and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Open to collaborating with diverse teams.
