Radiation Therapist - Radiation Oncology PRN

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team in Radiation Oncology. As a Radiation Therapist, you will be responsible for treating patients with various modalities, counseling, and maintaining detailed records on patient treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Treat patients with various treatment modalities, utilizing all treatment set-ups and machines, understanding current protocols.
  • Observe and question patients about their response to treatment, screening, counseling, or directing physical and emotional problems to Radiation Oncologist and/or nurse.
  • Prepare daily schedules for assigned treatment machines, checking for accuracy of new patient data, verifying accessories, and preparing dose calculations.
  • Presents field verification films to MD to verify set-up, adjusts fields as directed, and documents changes.
  • Maintains patient treatment records, submits billing for daily patient treatments, and reviews for accuracy.
  • Participates in ongoing Quality Assurance by reviewing charts and films of patients on treatment.
  • Schedules research time and teaches set-up for various treatment machines to DMS students.
  • Maintains and supplies assigned treatment rooms.
  • Performs technical training of radiation therapy students for affiliate sites and acts as a technical resource.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Radiation Therapy (2-year academic and affiliation program) required and 1 year experience.
  • Successful completion of Registry Exam or ARRT eligible and approved by the next ARRT examination.
  • BLS required within 30 days of hire.
  • Licensed by the Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy in the state of New Hampshire.
  • Licensed by the Office of Professional Regulation in the state of Vermont.
