Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our team at MyMichigan Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen physician orders to ensure the correct medications are given to individual patients, taking into account factors such as age, medical history, and potential drug interactions.
  • Research and answer drug information questions, providing expert advice to healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Supervise the preparation of prescriptions for dispensing, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Lead the pharmacy workflow and provide leadership on the shift, communicating effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the 340(b) inventory, monitoring dispensing of prescriptions and auditing as directed by site policy.
  • Provide and document drug information to healthcare professionals and patients, as well as assist in the training of new pharmacists and pharmacy interns and residents.
  • Assist in formulating new/revised pharmacy policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Completion of a 6 year Pharm. D. degree preferred.
  • One (1) to three (3) years experience working in a hospital or retail setting preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of personal computer needed to enter prescription information.
  • Organizational skills needed to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups.
Physical and Mental Requirements

This role requires the ability to move freely about the facility with or without an assisted device, and to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description. The ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, and have regular and predictable attendance is also required.
