Position Overview

We are seeking a Travel Pharmacist to join our dedicated team at C0008 Franciscan Health Michigan City. This role is essential in providing exceptional pharmaceutical care and support across various locations.

Certification Requirements
  • Must hold a valid and unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of Indiana.
Job Responsibilities

The primary duties include:

  • Developing comprehensive unit profiles to enhance understanding of operational needs.
  • Collecting essential data regarding unit specifics, including location, staffing, and patient care ratios.
  • Engaging in both distributive and clinical pharmacy activities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with EPIC software.
  • Familiarity with Pyxis Automated Dispensing Cabinets and CII safe.
  • Inpatient hospital experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience in clean room environments.
Schedule and Availability
  • Shifts may vary, with occasional weekend work as needed.
  • No on-call requirements.
Unit Specifics
  • Location: Michigan City, IN
  • Staff Composition: 5.75 Clinical Staff Pharmacists and 2 Clinical Pharmacy Specialists.
  • Equipment Utilized: Epic EMR, Pyxis CII Safe, IV clean room, and more.
Key Procedures

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Dispensing medications, including IV admixtures and patient-specific doses.
  • Conducting pharmacokinetic dosing and renal dose adjustments.
  • Participating in antimicrobial stewardship and discharge medication reconciliation.
