Overview

This role is integral to the Defense Security Cooperation Agency, where the individual will take on the responsibilities of a Financial Management Specialist overseeing Department of Defense (DoD) funded initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

As a Financial Management Specialist, your primary duties may include:
  • Acting as the Financial Management Specialist for DoD funded programs
  • Reviewing and supervising financial management practices and protocols
  • Overseeing resource distribution by assessing funding priorities
  • Implementing Security Cooperation initiatives through the Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI) platform
  • Utilizing analytical and decision-making skills to manage organizational appropriated resources essential for the Security Cooperation mission.
Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-12 level, candidates must demonstrate the following experience:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service:
  • Managing and executing programs related to financial management, budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting of DoD program funds
  • Analyzing budgetary guidelines, policies, legislation, and regulations to formulate recommendations for unplanned or unfunded requirements and funding modifications
  • Overseeing Congressional notifications and execution of International Security Cooperation Programs (ISCP)OR
Experience includes both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer roles that contribute to relevant skills and knowledge applicable to this position.

Educational Background

Education cannot substitute for specialized experience at this grade level.

This position is not part of a Bargaining Unit.
