About the Role

Rush University System for Health is seeking a skilled Licensed Clinician to join our multidisciplinary team at the Road Home Program, a National Center of Excellence for Veterans and Their Families. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing effective mental health services to current service members, veterans, and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional mental health services with an emphasis on evidence-based treatment, focusing on maximizing personal or family functioning.
  • Prepare comprehensive intake summaries, treatment plans, and case summaries while maintaining confidential records.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate treatment approaches for clients and affected family members, including individual, family, group, or intensive therapeutic modalities.
  • Accurately document treatment and progress in the electronic health record (Epic) in a timely manner, adhering to state and other regulations, and departmental policies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary providers regarding client progress and treatment, including conferring with attending physicians regarding hospitalized clients' recommendations for treatment.
  • Utilize community resources to meet the needs of clients' treatment goals, offering options for referrals to external resources for clients and/or family members.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs within the psychiatry department at Rush.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Current Illinois licensure as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or applied behavioral science.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to behave ethically and professionally, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and work with diverse populations.
  • Collaboration skills, including working with social services and government agencies.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of post-license experience as a member of a mental health treatment team in an outpatient setting under licensed supervision.
  • Experience with evidence-based treatment.
  • Previous work with service members, veterans, and their families is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (Epic).
  • Strong active listening, critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills.
