Position Summary:
The Investment Accounting Director is a pivotal member of the Finance team, tasked with supporting executive leadership in the realm of investment accounting. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including:

  • Oversight of Financial Processes: Directing the financial close operations for both domestic and international entities, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and local reporting standards.
  • Management of Accounting Estimates: Supervising accounting estimates and controls to maintain accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrating expertise in Clearwater Analytics and Oracle ERP, along with a comprehensive understanding of various accounting standards, including U.S. GAAP and international frameworks such as IFRS.
  • Team Development: Leading the professional growth and performance evaluations of team members.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Direct daily accounting functions and monthly financial closes for investment portfolios across multiple accounting standards, including U.S. GAAP and local regulations.
2. Serve as the primary contact for resolving issues and collaborating with colleagues on ad hoc regulatory reporting.
3. Enhance and manage processes related to investment accounting entries and reconciliations, working closely with ERP/HFM teams and maintaining the investment Chart of Accounts (COA).

4. Lead Clearwater implementation initiatives.
5. Prepare and present quarterly analyses of credit allowances to senior management, coordinating the review of meeting documentation.
6. Oversee U.S. GAAP and statutory accounting for alternative investments while managing the Clearwater LPx tool.

7. Provide guidance on technical accounting matters, including the drafting of policy memorandums.
8. Complete the investment section for the annual AM Best Survey.
9. Review U.S. GAAP financial statement footnotes and prepare the investment section of the cash flow statement, collaborating with the Financial Reporting Team.

10. Manage the career development and performance assessments of team members.
