Science Teacher

This professional position is responsible for delivering instructional programs effectively to ensure student achievement and meet the instructional goals of the school and school system.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver instructional programs to students in a secondary setting, ensuring student achievement and meeting instructional goals.
- Plan and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
- Prepare for classes assigned and demonstrate written evidence of preparation upon request.
- Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects.
- Assess student progress on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
- Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
- Must have a bachelor's degree and hold or be eligible for a Maryland educator certificate.
- Demonstrate knowledge of current instructional and curricular methodologies.
- Possess the ability to relate well with students, colleagues, parents, and staff.

Pay and HoursThis position is a 10-month position with a minimum of 37.5 hours per week. Placement on the appropriate salary lane/step will be based on knowledge, experience, skills, and abilities related to this position.
