Role Summary: The Educational Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting diverse learners both inside and outside the classroom while enhancing their own instructional skills. We strive to provide students with an engaging learning environment, and our educators depend on specialists to contribute their best efforts daily. We are seeking a dedicated educational support specialist to help us maintain the high standards of learning we are recognized for. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in this capacity and demonstrate flexibility in responding to the dynamic needs of a classroom setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver instructional support based on lesson plans under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
- Act as a positive and nurturing mentor for students.
- Exemplify the school's professional and ethical standards in interactions with students, parents, staff, and community members.
- Oversee students during instructional and assessment activities, both in and out of the classroom.
- Engage in collaborative planning sessions with the educational team, communicating with parents and school officials as necessary.
- Co-facilitate lesson components as directed by the teacher, leading small group discussions and reviewing student work.
- Attend to students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs, providing assistance with language translation and hygiene when required.
- Organize classroom materials and verify student attendance.
- Perform administrative tasks such as typing, filing, photocopying, grading assignments, and tracking student progress.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with students, parents, and staff, participating in parent-teacher conferences and faculty meetings.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working with students.
- Strong communication skills with both adults and children.
- Understanding of basic childhood development principles.
- Familiarity with educational software and a willingness to learn new systems.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Associate's degree (or equivalent) in early childhood development or education.
- Teaching certification.
- Experience working with students with special needs.
