Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication and problem-solving skills. As a Communications/Operations Dispatcher for Sacramento County CA, you will be responsible for receiving and responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching personnel and equipment, and providing critical support to our public safety teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and evaluate emergency and non-emergency calls, and dispatch personnel and equipment as needed
  • Operate a computer-aided dispatch system, multi-channel radio, and other communications equipment
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with the public, emergency responders, and other stakeholders
  • Respond quickly and calmly to emergency situations, and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient and effective response
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to provide critical support and ensure seamless operations
Requirements
  • 6 months of full-time, paid experience in radio dispatching, operating a telephone switchboard, or communication equipment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Valid California Driver License, Class C or higher
Working Conditions
  • Work in a confined environment, with frequent use of headsets and video displays
  • May be required to work in a high-stress environment, with frequent exposure to emergency situations
