Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at Yale New Haven Health's Orthopedics East 3 campus. As a key member of our patient care team, you will provide exceptional support to our patients, families, and staff, ensuring a positive and personalized experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the assessment, planning, and evaluation of patient needs, working closely with our nursing team to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Perform technical duties and selected treatments, procedures, and activities that contribute to safe and efficient delivery of patient care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address patient and family needs, taking into account cultural and individual diversity.
  • Effectively communicate and interact with patients, families, and staff, providing exceptional customer service and creating a positive environment.
  • Participate in receiving patient bedside report and contribute to the team approach of promoting access, continuous, comprehensive care, and quality improvement.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED, and CNA or other educational equivalent.
  • CT CNA certification, EMT, or student nurse from an accredited program.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) training must be obtained prior to employment or within one month of hire.
  • Successful completion of orientation and evidence of positive initiatives with patients and staff.
Physical Demands

This role requires regular sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, and talking or hearing. Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds is also required.

Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
