Patient Care Technician

As a Patient Care Technician at Danbury Hospital, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of healthcare professionals who are dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and service.
Responsibilities- Provide physical care to assigned patients, including bathing, dressing, and positioning.
- Perform technical skills such as point of care (POC) testing and implement nursing orders promptly and adequately.
- Follow policy and procedure for assigned patient care activities, including unit-specific equipment and safety protocols.
- Provide patient comfort and safety through preventative measures, such as side rails, restraints, and bed/chair exit alarms.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in a hospital environment preferred.
- Active CNA certification preferred; BLS/CPR certification required within 90 days of start date.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet patient needs.
This position requires a significant amount of manual dexterity and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. The work environment is fast-paced and may be physically demanding at times.
