This position is part of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), a division within HII's Mission Technologies group.

HII-Mission Technologies is looking for a Systems Engineer based in Honolulu, HI. Relocation assistance is available for the most qualified candidate. An active TS/SCI clearance is required for this position.

The role reports to the Site Officer in Charge/Deputy Officer in Charge. The selected individual will be integral to the management of daily operations and the technical readiness of the program and facility equipment. Responsibilities include providing technical support for continuous operational duties, managing all program systems and components, troubleshooting outages, and coordinating with various agencies to enhance circuit readiness while minimizing downtime. The candidate will also maintain program spaces, conduct preventive maintenance, and review and update Standard Operating Procedures as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and effectiveness analyses for comprehensive systems.
  • Performs analyses at all levels of system products, including concept, design, fabrication, testing, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Ensures systematic conversion of customer requirements into total systems solutions, considering technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Executes functional analysis, timeline analysis, and requirements allocation to translate customer needs into hardware and software specifications.
  • Provides technical expertise for the installation, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of systems.
  • Acts as Power Control Station/Power Safety Officer, overseeing routine and preventive maintenance.
  • Communicates any significant changes to system configuration or capabilities to the chain of command.
  • Prepares daily/monthly/weekly operational schedules to support mission requirements.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or a Master's degree with no experience; or a High School Diploma with 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Background in Electronic Maintenance, Information Systems, or Telecommunications is essential.
  • Experience in managing electronic equipment for preventive and corrective maintenance, configuration, and calibration is required.
  • Familiarity with Safety Procedures related to electronic equipment is necessary.
  • Ability to identify and resolve emergent issues with technical and facility-related equipment is crucial.
  • Experience in following quality assurance protocols is required.
  • Must possess a current or active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain base access credentials.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge in communications, fiber optics, electrical/electronic components, and AC/DC theory.
  • Thorough understanding of installation and maintenance of electrical/electronic components.
  • Experience with various Test Equipment is advantageous.
  • Involvement in the development and implementation of Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) is a plus.
  • Experience with Lifecycle Management of programs and equipment is preferred.
  • Knowledge in Information Systems, Network Infrastructure, Troubleshooting, and Program Analysis is beneficial.
Physical Requirements

Work may occur in office, industrial, or shipboard environments. Candidates must be capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variations. Lifting and moving materials may be necessary.
