Groundperson
The Groundperson is a crucial member of our team, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our wood chippers and other equipment. This role involves gathering and feeding brush and debris into the wood chipper, scanning areas for potential hazards, and maintaining a safe working environment for our crew members.
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Groundperson to join our team. As a Groundperson, you will be responsible for operating equipment, maintaining a safe working environment, and contributing to the overall success of our utility line clearance services.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate chainsaw to cut brush, logs, and stumps of larger trees.
- Drag, gather, and feed brush into wood chipper.
- Service vehicles and equipment, maintaining them in neat, clean, and specified mechanical order.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be willing to join local union and pay union dues.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Entry-level position, no experience required. Previous experience a plus.
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for long periods. You must also be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary and work in various weather conditions.
