Construction Project Manager
The Construction Project Manager will support new customer construction projects with one of the state's largest utilities.
The Construction Project Manager will be the direct point of contact for customers, expected to communicate early, often, effectively, and always pleasantly, contributing to a best-in-class customer experience.
The Construction Project Manager will own the project post-approved design, leading the project through execution (planning, scheduling, construction, energization, as-builts, restoration, and closeout) while working closely with internal stakeholders including land/right-of-way, inspection services, meter services, crew schedulers/planners, operations, vegetation management, and mapping.
The Construction Project Manager will be the single point of contact for customers, municipalities, contractors, and internal construction groups for projects including new installations (residential and commercial), streetlighting, system upgrades, conversions, and relocation projects tied to electrical distribution services.
The Construction Project Manager will ensure all steps of the project process are completed, considering timeliness and responsiveness to customers; effectively prioritize and balance multiple tasks and projects to meet customer expectations; interpret and coordinate work with other internal departments to fulfill project requirements.
The Construction Project Manager generally works independently but receives some direct supervision and fulfills project requirements consistent with company tariff, design standards, NESC requirements, and applicable codes.
Responsibilities include evaluating needs for easements and/or permits, verifying field readiness for work execution, ensuring material availability for timely construction, scheduling field work orders to meet in-service expectations, updating status, tasks, and dates in the Work-Management System, communicating with external and internal agencies, troubleshooting and resolving design issues with internal design support.
Requirements:Hard Skills:
Working knowledge and application of company standards and tariffs, company policy, applicable codes and local jurisdiction requirements (preferred)
Working knowledge of PGE's electrical system (preferred)
Working knowledge of transmission and distribution construction standards and practices (preferred)
Proficiency in using computer tools including AutoCAD, work management systems (preferred)
Ability to understand and apply engineering and design concepts from construction plans
Project management skills in planning and executing projects
Ability to effectively plan, organize, design, coordinate, and manage multiple projects with changing timelines
Soft Skills:
Strong communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a teamwork environment
Effective prioritization and balancing of multiple tasks
Responsiveness to customer expectations
