Position Overview
This role is for a PERSONNEL SECURITY COORDINATOR within the Army National Guard Units. As a key member of the security team, you will assist in the management of personnel security clearances and support the adjudication process for individuals seeking entry into sensitive positions.

Key Responsibilities
As a PERSONNEL SECURITY COORDINATOR, your duties will include:
  • Reviewing requests for security clearances to ensure completeness and accuracy, and liaising with relevant personnel for any necessary clarifications.
  • Ensuring that all investigative files are prepared and available for review, adhering to established suitability guidelines.
  • Receiving and processing requests for personnel clearances for various personnel categories, including civilian, contractor, and military staff.
  • Assisting in the evaluation of background investigations and related documents to determine suitability for federal employment.
  • Utilizing various tracking methods to monitor the status of ongoing investigations and reinvestigations for security clearance holders.
  • Communicating with agencies conducting investigations to obtain updates on security clearance statuses.
  • Preparing documentation for supervisory review to verify security clearances for personnel on temporary assignments.

Conditions of Employment
This position requires membership in the Illinois National Guard and adherence to military standards. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Additionally, the role may require working irregular hours to meet operational needs.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a background in clerical or administrative roles, demonstrating the ability to manage office functions efficiently. Experience with computer systems and a strong understanding of office protocols are essential.
