Role Summary:

The Buyer is responsible for pricing, quoting, and procuring necessary materials for the installation of fire protection systems that are not produced in-house, ensuring our customers receive the highest quality service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process quote requests from Customer Service Representatives for required materials.
  • Prepare weekly updates on order and quote totals.
  • Follow up on vendor orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Review stock orders for accuracy in quantities before placement.
  • Track all stock orders and drop shipments.
  • Assist in the removal of C-items by obtaining RMAs and ensuring follow-up.
  • Maintain logs of all quotes and inquiries, providing detailed reports.
  • Analyze the SAC102 report prior to placing stock orders with vendors.
  • Address discrepancies with vendors promptly and follow up as necessary.
  • Review weekly backorder reports and expedite shipping as needed.
  • Promote workplace safety by adhering to all safety protocols and reporting hazards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service and negotiation abilities.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to systematically resolve issues.
  • Understanding of purchasing practices, pricing, and payment processes.

Educational Background:

  • High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is advantageous.
