Role Summary:
The Buyer is responsible for pricing, quoting, and procuring necessary materials for the installation of fire protection systems that are not produced in-house, ensuring our customers receive the highest quality service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process quote requests from Customer Service Representatives for required materials.
- Prepare weekly updates on order and quote totals.
- Follow up on vendor orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Review stock orders for accuracy in quantities before placement.
- Track all stock orders and drop shipments.
- Assist in the removal of C-items by obtaining RMAs and ensuring follow-up.
- Maintain logs of all quotes and inquiries, providing detailed reports.
- Analyze the SAC102 report prior to placing stock orders with vendors.
- Address discrepancies with vendors promptly and follow up as necessary.
- Review weekly backorder reports and expedite shipping as needed.
- Promote workplace safety by adhering to all safety protocols and reporting hazards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service and negotiation abilities.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to systematically resolve issues.
- Understanding of purchasing practices, pricing, and payment processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant software systems.
Educational Background:
- High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred.
- Experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is advantageous.
