Cardiothoracic Procurement Position

Baylor Scott & White Health - North Texas is seeking a highly skilled Cardiothoracic Procurement Specialist to join our team at our flagship hospital in Downtown Dallas.

The Department of Cardiac Surgery at Baylor Scott & White Health in Dallas, Texas, an affiliate of Texas A & M College of Medicine, is currently seeking a Thoracic Organ Procurement Surgeon to be an integral part of the heart and lung transplant teams. The heart transplant program at BSWH Dallas is the largest in the state of Texas and consistently ranks as a top 10 program in the country for volume.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and procure heart, lung, and heart/lung allografts
  • Communicate with implanting surgeons and transplant teams
  • Promote teamwork and excellent communication among transplant and procurement teams
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with multidisciplinary teams
  • Participate in ECMO program, including assessment, cannulation, and management
Requirements:
  • Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency Pathway preferred
  • Board Certification/Eligibility in Thoracic Surgery or equivalent
  • Experience in cardiothoracic procurement preferred but not required
  • Guaranteed competitive salary with an assigned mentor within the Baylor network
