Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Estimator to join our team at Jobot. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for analyzing contractor bids, creating comprehensive estimates, and conducting detailed risk assessments to ensure our projects are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing contractor bids to ensure all costs and specifications are included and accurate.
  • Creating comprehensive estimates and cost plans for a variety of mechanical construction projects.
  • Conducting detailed risk assessments to ensure potential project problems are foreseen and the cost is forecasted accurately.
  • Liaising with engineers, architects, and other construction professionals to ensure all estimates are comprehensive and include all necessary job components.
  • Keeping up-to-date with local rates in estimates to ensure our bids are competitive and accurate.
  • Using industry knowledge to influence design decisions to achieve the best value for money.
  • Providing support to the project management team throughout the lifecycle of the project, from initial estimate to final account.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the construction industry.
  • A strong understanding of mechanical systems and construction processes.
  • Proven experience in analyzing contractor bids and creating accurate estimates and cost plans.
  • An in-depth knowledge of local rates in estimates.
  • Excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of professionals.
  • The ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, such as estimating software and MS Office.
