Welding Process Specialist

Job Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing all welding-related activities in the plant involved in the manufacture of automotive seating structures.

This role is dedicated to maintaining welding processes, integrity, and equipment uptime to achieve production objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process monitoring and data recording
  • Fixture adjustments required to meet product dimensional targets
  • Weld program changes as required to maintain acceptable level of weld performance
  • Interact with other engineering support and maintenance to react to unscheduled equipment issues and perform necessary diagnostics and repairs
  • Support offline weld repair processes
  • Train and help lead Weld Techs
  • Maintains welding process flow, PFMEA, process books
  • Helps to support prelaunch team of new programs
  • Trouble shoot down weld cells
  • Identify weld defects
  • Weld specification development, interpretation, and maintenance
  • Weld quality specification, diagnostics, and evaluation
  • Prototype development and builds
  • Equipment programming and debugging
  • Complete all required and applicable training required by Adient and its customers
  • Other job duties as needed
Requirements
  • BSWE preferred but will consider experience with automated welding process
  • Must be capable of performing typical maintenance, engineering, and troubleshooting activities
  • Training in Fanuc and moto Man
  • Basic understanding of 2D dimensional product prints
  • Basic understanding of GD &T is preferred
  • Welding experience both manual and some automated
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Must be able to meet the requirements of being able to work in the United States (INS Form I-9)
  • EHS Requirements
  • Adhere to all Health, Safety and Environmental Standards
  • Report occupational injuries, illnesses, and accidents
  • Report hazardous, unsafe, and unhealthy conditions
