The Good Samaritan Society is actively seeking a dedicated and flexible Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team as a Travel CNA. This role allows a CNA to provide care across various GSS locations within a 150-mile radius from their home, offering competitive pay, mileage reimbursement, and flexibility without the need for a contract.

Responsibilities include assisting with essential health care needs and daily living activities, which may encompass bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support and personal care to assigned residents.

Assist residents in transferring, repositioning, and ambulating using appropriate techniques and equipment, while also providing range of motion and passive exercises.

Complete tasks related to meal preparation and dining, ensuring a positive dining experience for residents. Assist with meals and snacks, providing hydration and supplements as needed.


The Nursing Assistant supports healthcare providers and nursing staff with procedures as necessary. Document resident interactions and outcomes related to care, behavior, activity, and dietary needs. Communicate any changes in residents' conditions and care-related concerns to the charge nurse. Maintain cleanliness and operational efficiency in residents' living areas through housekeeping and laundry services. Encourage resident participation in wellness and recreational programs.

While a high school diploma or GED is preferred, it is not mandatory. Previous clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care is advantageous.


Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with the State Board of Nursing is required, or state certification must be obtained within four months of starting the position through enrollment in a training program or certification via endorsement.

CNA training and certification will be provided by the facility. Additionally, successful completion of yearly department-specific competency testing and maintenance of continuing education credits is expected. Depending on facility requirements, this role may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver, necessitating compliance with the Sanford Driving Policy.
