The Amentum Aviation Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing maintenance, refurbishment, repair, inspection, and servicing tasks on designated aircraft within a maintenance and operational framework, adhering to relevant guidelines.


Key Responsibilities:

Conduct maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and modifications of aircraft in compliance with 14 CFR and Department of Defense (DoD) standards, technical manuals, and other applicable documentation.

Perform daily and turnaround inspections on all assigned aircraft.
Carry out inspections, corrosion control, troubleshooting, and fault isolation on aircraft systems.

May be required to operate Government aircraft for relocation, conduct in-flight checks (test flights), and perform troubleshooting that cannot be completed on the ground.

May be required to undertake official travel to temporary duty locations within and outside the United States.

Provide personal hand tools necessary for aircraft maintenance (special tools and testing equipment will be supplied by the employer).

May be required to undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall mission.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must hold and maintain a valid State driver's license.
Must be willing to undergo random drug testing.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a CBP Background Investigation Suitability clearance.

Note:
US Citizenship is required to obtain clearance.
A high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited program is mandatory.
Must possess a valid FAA Mechanic certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings.

Must be proficient and knowledgeable in the repair and maintenance of both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft and their systems, including airframes, structures, hydraulics, fuel and electrical systems, and aircraft engines.

Must be skilled in system troubleshooting, as well as reading and interpreting schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and FAA, Company, and other directives.

Must demonstrate reliability and sound judgment.
Able to adhere to base, federal, and Company procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous waste materials.
Ability to meet deadlines and maintain necessary workflow.
Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English, following both verbal and written instructions.
The ability to comprehend and interpret technical data.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:
Must be physically capable of performing aircraft mechanic duties.
Ability to move freely within the aircraft and meet specific weight limits.
Stand, squat, sit, walk, and work with arms overhead for extended periods.
May be required to wear a respirator.
Lift, pull, and push up to 50 lbs.

Occasionally, individuals may be required to work in high noise environments, necessitating the use of appropriate ear protection.


Preferred Qualifications:
At least two years of experience working with rotary-wing aircraft is preferred.
Experience with UH-60 Blackhawk, C206, and AS350 is highly desirable.
