Position Overview:

As a Project Accountant at Flatiron Construction, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial data while generating comprehensive financial reports for various projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare project journal entries and reconcile cost reports for multiple projects.
  • Compile and analyze project payment forms to ensure accuracy and meet deadlines.
  • Monitor insurance and bond details for all subcontractors.
  • Assist with month-end closing processes, budget adjustments, and revisions as required by the project team.
  • Establish cost codes and types tailored to project requirements.
  • Support field personnel with timecard entries, certified payroll, and necessary reporting.
  • Input equipment time entries and reconcile equipment accruals as needed for project purposes.
  • Facilitate accounts payable and manage onsite invoice entries to track project expenditures and payments, collaborating with project staff to expedite payments and resolve issues.
  • Act as a liaison between the project team and vendor or subcontractor accounting departments.
  • Maintain awareness of the company's values and strategic objectives.
  • Adhere to established corporate policies.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications:
  • Preferred 2+ years of experience in construction field accounting or relevant training.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Effective time management and self-prioritization abilities are required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Developing analytical capabilities.
  • Demonstrates personal accountability for tasks and seeks assistance when necessary.
