Position Overview

The Social Services Case Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing the educational journey of adult learners by providing essential support and guidance. This position is situated within the Community Impact division, which is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the lead case manager for adult learners enrolled in various educational programs, including ESOL, GED, and Cafe Prep.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of up to six Student Support Coordinators, ensuring effective case management practices.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings and individual supervision sessions to address case management strategies and challenges.
  • Ensure meticulous maintenance of client records, including assessments, care plans, and all necessary documentation for grant compliance.
  • Collaborate with Program Managers to develop and implement innovative case management initiatives.
  • Design and conduct training sessions for Student Support Coordinators to enhance their professional skills.
  • Monitor attendance and work closely with GED Managers to address student needs and improve retention rates.
  • Organize community health fairs to promote wellness and resource accessibility.
  • Review and ensure compliance of case management documentation within the Adult Student Information System.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a preference for backgrounds in Social Work or Psychology.
  • Certification as a Case Manager (CCM) or similar credentials.
  • Multilingual capabilities, with a strong preference for Spanish.
  • Completion of 14 hours of professional development as mandated by the Regional Adult Education Network.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage a diverse adult learner population.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by immigrants in integrating into the workforce and academic settings.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Availability for evening shifts, working until 9 PM on 2-3 occasions per week.
