About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to work in a fast-paced environment, providing exceptional care and comfort to critically ill or injured patients. As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will have the opportunity to utilize your skills and knowledge to make a real difference in the lives of pets and their owners.

Responsibilities
  • Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients, utilizing anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
  • Triage emergency cases, obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
  • Perform digital radiography using proper technique, including patient positioning.
  • Have a complete understanding of normal patient vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
  • Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting veterinarians to changes and issues.
  • Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
  • Properly calculate medical math, administering medications via appropriate routes and duration.
  • Be proficient in phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
  • Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
  • Have a passion for mentoring and training other coworkers.
  • Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $41.00, with opportunities for advancement through our CareerTrax leveling system. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.
