Job Title: Credentialed Veterinary Technician

Suburban Animal Clinic is seeking a skilled and compassionate Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a key partner to our veterinarians, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care for our patients.

Job Summary

The Credentialed Veterinary Technician will assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery, as well as perform various tasks such as taking histories, vital signs, and weights, and providing client education. You will also be responsible for preparing patients for surgery, monitoring vital signs, and administering medications and anesthesia.

Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians in outpatient exams and procedures
  • Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs
  • Obtain blood, stool, and other samples for laboratory testing
  • Perform in-hospital laboratory testing and prepare specimens for outside laboratories
  • Take, develop, and maintain radiographs
  • Provide basic animal handling and restrain animals during exams
  • Administer and monitor medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments
  • Clean and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and lab equipment
  • Communicate with veterinarians and practice team members
Requirements
  • State license to work as a certified/licensed/registered veterinary technician
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS office applications
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
