What You'll DoYou will evaluate and interpret client needs and specifications to develop precise engineering proposals that are both technically and commercially viable. You will engage in stimulating projects with set deadlines while upholding the highest quality standards. Additionally, you will represent Viasat in client meetings and contribute to business development initiatives.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Your primary responsibility will be to prepare and submit comprehensive tender documents punctually, ensuring technical and commercial compliance with client and legal requirements, aimed at securing the best possible commercial advantage for the organization.
Ensure competitive pricing for equipment and staffing across all projects by collaborating closely with key suppliers and relevant external agencies.
Act as Viasat's representative during technical presentations and clarification meetings with clients and suppliers, both domestically and internationally (travel may be required based on current planning). Support the establishment of standard pricing approaches and reusable detailed bid components for product and service offerings.
What You'll NeedA Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Communications Engineering.
Significant experience in the telecommunications sector or engineering field, typically over 8-10 years.
In-depth knowledge of radio communication systems, LAN & WAN technologies, PABX/VoIP systems, VSAT, PAGA, CCTV, ACS, IDS, and related systems in energy industry applications.
Demonstrated experience in business development within the telecommunications industry.What Will Help You Succeed
We are looking for a seasoned Bids and Proposals Engineer who thrives in both team settings and independent work, and who is proficient in Excel, as it is utilized daily in this aspect of the business.
Additionally, strong communication skills are essential, along with confidence in engaging with partners at various levels.
Salary Range$131,000 - $227,900.00 annually. At Viasat, we take various factors into account when determining compensation, including the role's scope and your experience.
Base pay may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be included in the compensation package, along with a range of medical, financial, and other benefits, depending on the position offered.
