BayMark Health Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Leader to join our team in a substance abuse treatment setting. As a Lead Substance Abuse Nurse, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure that physician medication orders are accurately implemented and delivered in a timely manner, including transportation to outside facilities.
- Oversee Medical Services to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Delegate tasks to certified nursing assistants, medication technicians, or unlicensed personnel who are competent to perform those tasks.
- Communicate and collaborate with the Nursing Supervisor regarding potential issues.
- Schedule and participate in treatment teams, panel reviews, department head meetings, and general staff meetings.
- Manage the nursing team, including time clock edits, scheduling, performance improvement activities, and monthly reporting.
- Review and resolve client clinical complaints, intervene in crisis situations, and perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Licensed in California as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with 3-5 years of experience.
- Prior experience in substance abuse, mental health treatment, or addiction medicine is preferred.
- Accuracy of record keeping with understanding of HIPAA, federal, state, and CARF standards and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Fundamental knowledge of professional nursing principles, techniques, basic addiction medicine science, and community health and welfare resources.
- Ability to carry out written and oral instructions, exercise judgment in the application of nursing care, accept and use supervision, work cooperatively with people, maintain an objective attitude, exercise tact and initiative, stimulate patients and families to constructive actions, grasp and apply the basic principles of administration and operation of a health program, and communicate effectively.
