Software Engineering Director

Capital One is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead a team of software engineers and subject matter experts in delivering Cryptographic Services to the enterprise. The ideal candidate will have expertise in software engineering and knowledge of cryptography, with a passion for growing and sustaining an innovative technology organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of analysts and engineers to deliver cryptographic key and certificate management solutions.
  • Work with internal product teams to create a compelling vision for the Crypto Services program and build roadmaps.
  • Interface with internal customers and stakeholders to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions for complex use cases.
  • Manage risk proactively and effectively, leveraging enterprise risk management processes.
  • Coach and mentor engineers through their career development and performance.

Requirements:

  • At least 7 years of experience in Cyber Security.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Software Development.
  • At least 5 years of people leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 10+ years of professional experience coding.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in the full lifecycle of system development.
  • 3+ years of experience in managing cryptographic services.
  • 3+ years of experience with public cloud technologies.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
