Job Overview

The Media Insights Specialist is tasked with the critical role of generating analytical reports and extracting significant insights from the performance of advertising initiatives at Holland America Group. This encompasses both digital and traditional media placements, as well as comprehensive evaluations of overall campaign effectiveness. The individual in this position is essential in crafting integrated measurement frameworks and executing enhancements to optimize campaign outcomes. The Media Insights Specialist collaborates closely with both planning and digital teams to gain a thorough understanding of media strategies and investments across various channels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engages with internal and external media teams to assess and interpret the performance of paid media and advertising efforts for various internal projects. Provides reports and insights that highlight opportunities for optimizing partnerships, target audiences, and strategies while addressing any data inconsistencies. Formulates strategic testing methodologies and agrees on relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure campaign objectives are achieved.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of creative messaging, generates reports, and identifies opportunities for testing. Collaborates with the broader marketing team to discern which messaging strategies and executions yield the best results and adjusts tactics accordingly.
  • Contributes to larger media projects, such as the development and utilization of Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) and/or Multi-Touch Attribution (MTA), working alongside cross-functional teams.
  • Establishes tracking and reporting specifications and implements tailored tracking parameters, including appropriate media tagging and naming conventions to facilitate clear performance understanding.
  • Undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned, including billing and other related tasks.
  • Adheres to all organizational policies and standards.
Qualifications:
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in advertising, marketing, or data analytics is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years in media and/or marketing, leveraging technology and analytics to assess campaign performance is essential.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with Site Catalyst (or similar tools).
  • Experience with Tableau, SQL, Tealium, DFA, and DMP.
  • Proficient in Google Analytics 360 and Google Campaign Manager.
  • Comprehensive understanding of site tagging practices.
  • Knowledge of full-funnel media strategies, both data-driven and technology-focused.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across media, marketing, and business intelligence teams, as well as with external advertising agencies, to enhance brand awareness and drive bookings.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate actionable insights both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exhibits enthusiasm, creativity, and a commitment to excellence.
Physical Requirements: Must be capable of remaining in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods.

Travel Requirements: Minimal travel may be required.

Work Environment: Primarily operates in a climate-controlled office setting with minimal safety or health hazards.
