Location: Miami

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timely delivery of financial data to the organization and Group Headquarters. This pivotal role within the senior management team will encompass a comprehensive range of responsibilities, including month-end closing, annual financial planning, operational analysis, year-end audits, and various projects as determined by the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

  • Compile statutory financial statements for U.S. entities.
  • Oversee the preparation for audits, including site visits and successful completion.

Management Accounting

  • Generate monthly financial statements to identify performance, trends, and forecasts.
  • Prepare management reporting packages for the senior management team in the U.S.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded, organized, and reported.
  • Develop financial plans and budgets based on thorough research and data analysis.
  • Scrutinize all financial reports and data for inconsistencies.
  • Establish systems to mitigate errors in data collection and calculations.
  • Produce reports on sales performance, cash management, and working capital.

Tax Compliance and Regulation

  • Review corporate tax calculations.
  • Prepare and file local tax returns.
  • Implement financial reporting systems to adhere to governmental regulations and standards.

Cash Management

  • Maintain an updated cash flow forecast as new information arises.
  • Generate weekly cash flow forecasts and present them to local management.
  • Ensure that operational units have effective cash and purchasing controls in place.

Financial Controls and Procedures

  • Regularly review financial plans and budgets to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure accurate and consistent pricing records to maintain appropriate margins.
  • Facilitate comparable sales analysis.
  • Reiterate company policies to operational units as necessary.

Systems Improvement

  • Recommend enhancements for accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing.
  • Leverage technology to maximize operational efficiencies.

Supplier Relations

  • Foster and develop supplier relationships and actively engage in negotiating rates with key suppliers.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and terminology
  • Familiarity with financial systems (Cargowise preferred, but not mandatory)
  • Intermediate proficiency in IT
