Animal Welfare Coordinator

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the role of Volunteer Coordinator / Adoption Counselor at the Galveston County Health District.
This position is responsible for overseeing volunteer programs and adoption processes, ensuring the well-being of animals in our care.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours and activities.
- Develop and implement strategies to recruit and retain volunteers.
- Coordinate volunteer outreach activities and events.
- Provide information about animal care and adoption processes.
- Assist with animal transportation and microchipping.
- Collaborate with administrative staff to ensure seamless operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience with animal handling and basic animal care.
- Knowledge of animal behavior, health, and safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and ability to transport animals.
- Pass a Department of Motor Vehicle check and background screening.
