Animal Control Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Animal Services Officer to join our team at Haltom City. As a key member of our public safety team, you will be responsible for enforcing animal control ordinances, responding to public complaints, and providing care for sheltered animals.
Key Responsibilities- Enforce animal control laws and regulations, including rabies vaccination enforcement and animal quarantine.
- Respond to public concerns and complaints regarding animals at large, animal welfare issues, and/or deceased animals.
- Investigate potential animal control violations involving nuisance animals, bite cases, and/or animal cruelty.
- Issue animal control warnings, notices, and/or citations to violators as warranted.
- Locate, trap, capture, and restrain injured, wild, and/or dangerous animals.
- Transport stray, lost, sick, and/or vicious animals to the City's animal shelter.
- Provide for the humane care and treatment of sheltered animals.
- Assist in cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining the City's Animal Shelter facilities.
- Prepare, update, and maintain a variety of departmental records and reports.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year demonstrated experience working with animals; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
