Maintenance Technician Job Description

General Shale, a leading manufacturer of brick and sustainable building solutions, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support our commercial brick plant operations in Rome, GA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventive maintenance on production machines, including motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and conveyors, using technical manuals and engineering specifications.
  • Utilize troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues with production equipment, utilizing measuring and testing equipment.
  • Fabricate repair parts and repair machinery using common machine shop/fabrication equipment.
  • Install new equipment using common machine shop/fabrication equipment.
  • Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories, anticipating future needs.
  • Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs to ensure continuity among work teams.
  • Provide mechanical maintenance guidance to plant operations personnel.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with all safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
Requirements:
  • High School degree (or equivalent)
  • 3-5 years maintenance experience in an automated manufacturing environment
Physical Demands:

The majority of the time is spent standing, walking, stooping, reaching, and bending. The candidate must be capable of lifting to 75lbs.
