KIPP Oklahoma currently serves over 1,000 students and supports numerous alumni. The KIPP Oklahoma network includes KIPP Tulsa Public Charter Schools (grades 6-12) and KIPP OKC Public Schools (grades PreK-3 and 6-8). KIPP OKC Public Schools is expanding one grade each year until it becomes a full PreK-8 program.

Job Responsibilities

Instructional Design and Evaluation:
  • Create comprehensive, Oklahoma standards-aligned unit and lesson plans tailored to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
  • Utilize assessment data to adjust both short and long-term instructional strategies to enhance all students' academic performance.
  • Welcome and incorporate feedback as part of a continuous improvement process.
  • Maintain teacher contract hours from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Monday-Thursday) and 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM (Friday) on regular school days. On Friday afternoons, students are dismissed early for all-school professional development. Classes begin at 8:00 AM and end at 4:00 PM (Monday-Thursday) and 2:30 PM (Friday).
Academic and Cultural Engagement
  • Collaborate with colleagues to foster an environment of critical thinking and academic rigor.
  • Build and sustain trusting relationships with students and families.
  • Participate in daily school activities, including morning, lunch, and afternoon supervisory duties.
  • Engage in school events such as staff meetings, open houses, back-to-school nights, parent orientations, and various other community gatherings.
  • Develop personalized learning plans for students and communicate these plans during parent meetings and conferences.
  • Meet professional commitments, including punctuality and consistency in meeting deadlines.
Qualifications

Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution.
  • Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate with necessary endorsements for the assigned subject and grade level, if applicable.
  • Proven knowledge of the core subject area assigned.
  • Successful completion of a background check. Employees are responsible for a non-refundable fingerprinting fee.

Compensation and Benefits:

This is a full-time, 10-month position. Salary is based on experience and aligned with the KIPP Oklahoma teacher salary scale.

Employees are eligible for comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, life, and disability insurance, as well as participation in Oklahoma Teacher Retirement plans.
