Job Responsibilities

Overview:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Working Hours:

Your regular hours will be from 7:15 AM to 5:00 PM.

Instructional Delivery and Assessment:

Design comprehensive unit plans and lesson plans aligned with Oklahoma standards that cater to all students' learning needs. Utilize assessment data to adjust both short-term and long-term instructional plans to enhance all students' academic outcomes. Welcome and integrate feedback as part of a commitment to continuous improvement.

Academic and Cultural Support

Collaborate with grade-level and content teams to foster an environment of critical thinking and academic excellence. Build and maintain trusting relationships with students and families. Participate in daily school operations, including morning, lunch, and afternoon supervisory duties. Attend school events such as staff meetings, open houses, and parent-teacher conferences. Create individualized learning plans for students and communicate these plans during parent meetings and conferences. Meet professional obligations, including punctuality and consistency in meeting deadlines.

Required Competencies

Strong commitment to KIPP DC's mission, students, families, and community. Proven track record of facilitating academic success, particularly for students from underserved communities. Enthusiasm for teaching a rigorous curriculum and dedication to an extended school day, week, and year. Desire for ongoing professional development and effectiveness as an educator; openness to giving and receiving constructive feedback. Flexibility and willingness to go above and beyond to meet the needs of KIPP DC students.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Science, or a related field. Teaching credential or certification is preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment. Commitment to the mission and values of the school.

Compensation and Benefits:

This is a full-time, temporary position for 10 months. Compensation will be based on experience and aligned with KIPP DC's established rates.
