Outside Parts Sales Representative

Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for increasing parts sales with existing accounts and prospecting for new accounts in assigned territory. This will involve face-to-face and phone contacts to solicit new business and maintain accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regularly visit assigned customers and proactively prospect for new customers.
- Communicate parts orders and delivery instructions to counter people.
- Stay up-to-date with new products, competition, and pricing trends.
- Coordinate relationships with New and Used Truck prospects and Service leadership.
- Promote the sales of parts and accessories and serve as an advisor to wholesale or retail customers.
- In conjunction with the Credit Manager, establish a method of payment on wholesale parts and obtain credit approvals as needed.
- Follow up on and confirm customer requirements and orders to ensure satisfaction.
- Complete necessary paperwork for processing warranty claims.
- Review special orders and pricing with the Parts Sales Manager for approvals.
- Deliver orders and pick up returns from customers.
- Effectively and efficiently manage required reports and paperwork (budgets, travel, call reports, expense reports, etc.).
- Maintain customer records and logs.
Requirements:
- High-school diploma or GED.
- Heavy truck and commercial motor vehicle industry experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of inside or outside sales experience with a proven ability to reach, maintain, and exceed sales goals/quotas.
- General business courses or sales training.
