We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Care Coordinator to join our team at Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the medical needs of patients pursuing Laryngology and Voice Services.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing and experience in otolaryngology-related services. They will work closely with faculty physicians and residents to provide excellent clinical care and customer service for patients with Laryngology and Voice disorders.
The Clinical Care Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Providing outpatient care and medical management for patients with Laryngology and Voice related Otolaryngology diagnosis
- Orienting residents and nursing staff to departmental treatment guidelines and protocols
- Providing initial and follow-up continuity evaluation and management services to patients
- Providing family education for patients with Laryngology and Voice disorders
- Participating in the development of clinical pathways/care plans/guidelines/protocols
- Assisting Laryngology faculty members with in-office procedures
- Facilitating communication between faculty and residents and nursing about care plans and outpatient follow-up plans
- Collaborating with clinic nursing staff to triage medical calls from patients
- Providing pre and postoperative treatment education to families
- Coordinating scheduling and referrals
The successful candidate will have a MSN with a nurse practitioner focus or be a licensed PA in the State of Virginia. Prior experience in otolaryngology-related services is preferred but not required.
Requirements:
- MSN with a nurse practitioner focus or PA license in the State of Virginia
- Experience in otolaryngology-related services (preferred)
- Strong background in nursing
- Excellent clinical care and customer service skills
- Ability to work closely with faculty physicians and residents
