About the Role

We are seeking an experienced I&C Programmer to join our team at McKim & Creed, Inc. as a key member of our instrumentation and control group. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing instrumentation and control systems for water/wastewater projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement PLC control systems, SCADA Systems, and Human Machine Interface software to effectively manage instrumentation and control systems.
  • Review specifications and drawings, write control system descriptions, and perform start-up and commissioning activities with minimal input from other personnel.
  • Understand and implement communications systems such as Ethernet-based local area networks and wireless radio systems.
  • Create instrument material take-offs from drawings.
  • Work closely with project managers, project teams, and clients to implement solutions.
Requirements
  • Experience troubleshooting problems in operational situations.
  • Familiarity with I&C drawings (loops, cabinet layout/wiring) and P&ID.
  • Experience with programming PLCs and HMIs, including knowledge of various PLCs and SCADA software.
  • Familiarity with system networking.
  • Strong writing and verbal skills, with the ability to complete work consistently and with moderate flexibility to accommodate varying demands.
  • Maintain a level of precision and accuracy appropriate to the project demands.
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and background record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on knowledge/experience with Rockwell, Schneider Electric, and Siemens PLCs.
  • Hands-on knowledge/experience with Aveva Wonderware, Aveva Plant SCADA (Citect), VTScada, and Ignition software.
  • 5+ years of Motorola MOSCAD and ACE programming and commissioning experience.
  • Willingness to relocate to Florida or live in the Orlando area.
