Job Summary:

The Senior Fluids Systems Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, analysis, and development of fluid systems for our launch vehicles. This includes the design of propellant systems, pressurized tanks, and other fluid-related components. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, fluid dynamics, and systems design.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop fluid systems for launch vehicles, including propellant systems, pressurized tanks, and other fluid-related components.
  • Perform analysis and simulation of fluid systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate fluid systems with other vehicle systems.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
  • Contribute to the development of new technologies and innovations in fluid systems design.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in fluid systems design and development.
  • Strong background in fluid dynamics, systems design, and mechanical engineering.
  • Experience with 3D CAD tools, such as Creo.
  • Proficiency in finite element analysis (FEA) tools, such as ANSYS.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience with internally pressurized gimbal type expansion joints and flex hoses.
  • Experience designing systems with RP-1, Oxygen, Peroxide, and Nitrogen in liquid and/or gaseous states.
  • Proven understanding of aerospace materials and treatments.
  • Experience with thermo-fluid solver applications, such as Thermal Desktop (Sinda Fluint), AFT (Fathom/Arrow), and REFPROP.
