Job Summary

Maintain the standards of the Recreation Department by providing exceptional customer service and administrative assistance for recreation programs and facilities. Ensure a welcoming and professional environment for customers and staff.


Key Responsibilities:


• Greet customers in a professional manner and provide information on recreation programs and facilities.

• Prepare facilities for daily operations, maintain a clean and neat environment, and restock shelves and flyer kiosks.

• Register customers for classes and programs, collect payments, and complete shift checklists and paperwork.

• Serve as a resource for part-time staff, assist with overflow work, and contact other City departments to resolve facility issues.

• Enforce Recreation Center rules and policies, participate in the Recreation Team, and engage with co-workers to achieve exceptional customer service.

• Drive a van to assist with recreation programs as needed.


Requirements:


• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Experience in customer service and cash handling.

• Physical ability to patrol the gym facility, move equipment, and assist with programs and classes.

• Knowledge of customer service practices and general computer programs.

• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid/AED certifications and a valid state driver's license.


Working Conditions:


• Occasional lifting and moving up to 50 pounds, continuous sitting, standing, bending, and crouching.

• Work in a climate-controlled recreation facility with occasional outdoor work.

• Regular patrols to ensure patron safety, rules compliance, and equipment safekeeping.

• Occasional exposure to stressful situations and moderate noise levels.

• Non-traditional working hours requiring flexibility.
